Thank you.

By visiting this Web site, you are already taking a stand against cancer and taking a step toward a cure. While here, you will read the story of one young woman diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia at the age of 22. You will come to know her through her own words. And hopefully, by the time you leave, you will be moved enough to start making changes in your life and in our world. Today.

This is your chance to make a difference.

After being diagnosed with leukemia in October 2006, Jamie Baker found her entire world turned around. After withdrawing from the University of Dayton to battle her disease, she found herself with a lot of time on her hands. So, she tried something she never had time to do before: cook. She gathered many recipes from her family, friends, and people who were following her story. The accumulation of these recipes gave her an idea. She compiled all the recipes she had received, laced them into excerpts from her journal, accented them with personal quotes, and bound them into a cookbook. Jamie's first cookbook, The Taste of Hope, sold hundreds of copies and resulted in a nearly $10,000 donation to the American Cancer Society in October of 2007, near the 1-year anniversary of her diagnosis.

This Web site, The Taste of Hope, shut down after the donation was made. As the five-year anniversary of Jamie's diagnosis and remission approached, she felt inspired to collect new recipes and create a new cookbook, The Taste of Hope Volume II: An Inspirational Cookbook, to make another donation. The anniversary cookbook is available for purchase on our Web site, with 100% of the proceeds going toward charities selected by our contributors. The new cookbook is full of stories from Jamie, as well as others whose lives have been affected by this disease. In it you will find recipes that nourish the body, and names, stories, and quotes to nourish the soul. Click here to place an order.

I WILL be a survivor.
I WILL donate.
I WILL support.
I WILL make a difference.
I WILL promise.
I WILL not let cancer beat me.
I WILL remember those who lost their battle.
I WILL find a cure.

Will you?
